Top 50 Job Titles In the US 2021

Updated: Feb 19, 2021

Chart based on the top 50 Job Titles, List provided by GlassDoor.

Solution

I think it's important to find a job you really enjoy, and reviews are a good way to get an idea of what other's think about a position. As a side project, I decided to take this interesting list and turn it into an organized chart listing median base salary, job satisfaction, and job openings grouped by each job title. The job titles include:

  • Java Developer

  • Data Scientist

  • Product Manager

  • Enterprise Architect

  • Devops Engineer

  • Information Security Engineer

  • Business Development Manager

  • Mobile Engineer

  • Software Engineer

  • Dentist

  • Front End Engineer

  • HR Manager

  • Strategy Manager

  • Salesforce Developer

  • Automation Engineer

  • End Engineer

  • Machine Learning Engineer

  • Product Marketing Manager

  • Tax Manager

  • Program Manager Consultant

  • Solutions Engineer

  • Cloud Engineer

  • UX Designer

  • Product Designer

  • Sales Manager

  • Clinical Nurse

  • Clinic Manager

  • Business Analyst

  • Technical Program Manager

  • Marketing Manager

  • Project Manager

  • Construction Superintendent

  • QA Engineer

  • Data Analyst

  • Realtor

  • Electrical Engineer

  • Attorney

  • Operations Manager

  • Scrum Master

  • Physician Assistant

  • Technical Project Manager

  • Tax Accountant

  • Risk Manager

  • Finance Manager

  • Corporate Recruiter

  • Customer Success Manager

  • Civil Engineer

  • Financial Analyst

  • Mechanical Engineer

I used Python to parse the data from Glassdoor and export the information into an Excel document. I then imported the Excel file into Tableau and used multiple bar graphs to display my data.

Conclusion

When this project had been finished I I thought it was interesting to see that my future as a data analyst looks bright, however, there aren't a lot of job openings right now. It's also interesting that most jobs on this list did not go below the 4.0 satisfaction rate which is very promising in case I ever want to change my field. I would like to expand on this chart in the future adding, future job outlook and opportunities for growth within each role because those are important factors for me. I'd also like to use a different source in addition to Glassdoor.

Environment

Tableau, Excel, Python, NumPY
